Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to serve as Youth Development Specialists. This unique role involves residing in on-campus student homes and providing a family-like environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
As a Youth Development Specialist, you will be responsible for guiding and nurturing a group of 8-12 students, handling responsibilities such as transportation, medication administration, and financial management. You will also have the opportunity to significantly impact the lives of young students and make a meaningful difference in their lives.
The salary for this position is $43,825 per person, with a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple. Relocation assistance and paid training are also provided.
This is a two-person job that requires experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses must be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. The campus is smoke-free and weapon-free, and pets are limited to fish and one dog of approved breeds.
Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. A valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are required. High school diploma or GED is necessary, and both spouses must complete an individual employment application.
