The HR Assistant provides various support services across many functions for the Human Resources Department. Key responsibilities include the administration of the recruitment and pre-employment processes for the department, assisting with material creation and training for managers, and initial data entry into the HRIS. Additionally, this position facilitates early onboarding as well as acts as an agent for the department in answering general questions and inquiries in support of the staff. Furthermore, this position has the opportunity to take an active role in MPM’s IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) committee.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees entirety of the recruitment process, including: reviewing and posting job requisitions, updating MPM’s Career Page, contacting candidates for interview scheduling, conducting phone screens, facilitating in-person interviews, providing insight to managers when making hiring decisions, managing the online background check process, and maintaining consistent communication with applicants throughout the process.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to facilitate a smooth initial onboarding for all new employees on their first day, including IT accounts, ID badges, and name tags.
- Assists with surveys and gathering statistical data for the IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Engagement and Accessibility) Recruitment and Retention Plan, EEO and Veterans Compliance reports.
- Works independently on special HR projects as assigned (e.g. salary and benefit benchmarking surveys, staff surveys).
- In conjunction with the Community Engagement and Advocacy Officer, collaboratively lead the IDEA committee by facilitating meetings, developing agendas, taking accurate meeting minutes, sharing information with all committee members, and serving as a resource for IDEA initiatives.
- Monitors communication channels for employee feedback and works collaboratively with the applicable stakeholders to distribute and implement workable suggestions.
- Are adept with computers (MPM uses Microsoft 365).
- Possess a high level of discretion and can appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information.

- Successfully work independently, multi-task, and prioritize projects.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated experience or interest in DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives
- Advanced education coursework in Human Resources, Communications, Management or another relevant field.
- Two years’ experience in Human Resources or another related field.
