What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Specialist position at Mindlance?
Role Overview:
This role focuses on IT procurement within the IT infrastructure space. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT procurement, with expertise in purchasing IT hardware, network equipment, and telecom services. His team or department handles procurement transactions of $1 million or more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management: Handle purchasing of IT hardware, including laptops, desktops, routers, switches, and network equipment.
- Telecom & Mobility Management: Oversee telecom voice, data, and mobility services with large telecom operators such as AT&T, Verizon, Cisco, Tata, and China Telecom.
- Cloud & Hosting Management: Manage hosting infrastructure in AWS and Google Cloud.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate agreements with OEMs in the IT space and ensure favorable terms.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial business case analysis and make strategic supplier deals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Understand business requirements, build procurement strategies, introduce suppliers, and lead negotiations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree is mimimum. I asked him if he would accept candidates with an associate’s degree. He said he can, but a bachelor’s degree will be prioritized, so I recommend focusing on candidates with a bachelor’s.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in IT procurement.
- Industry Experience: Med device experience is not required, but experience with large IT OEMs like Verizon, AT&T, Tata, Cisco, or Dell is highly valued.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of IT hardware, telecom, and software procurement.
- Contracting & Negotiation Skills: Ability to redline, negotiate agreements, and finalize contracts.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in financial analysis and making business cases for supplier deals.
Interview Process:
- Two rounds (via Microsoft Teams or onsite).
