Minds in Motion Initiative (MIMI) is an innovative new nonprofit organization in Salem, Oregon specializing in rehabilitation services for people of all ages with acquired brain injuries and other neurological illnesses or injuries. Under the direction of the Director of Living Services, the Living Services Manager plans, organizes, or manages the 24/7 operations of Minds In Motion Initiatives contracted residential services serving people with brain injuries. The manager ensures the well-being, safety, and independence of individuals by coordinating and managing training, guidance, or assistance to supervisors or specialized staff in the application of positive behavior supports, person-centered practices, and community integration goals.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES
- Execute policies and goals through the management of operations, people, and their work
- Oversee and conduct hiring activities
- Provide direct, 24/7 supervision and management of staff and supervisor
- Organize and assign work activities, evaluate residential facility needs, determine and schedule proper staff coverage, manage programs, monitor workflow, and review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures
- Oversee scheduling, time reporting, and payroll reports
- Oversee facility operations, report needed repairs, and environmental/safety modification
- Maintain fleet and other equipment
- May assist in the preparation of the budget concepts and participate in forecasting additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies
- Implement and monitor work plans and the budget to achieve goals and performance measures
- Monitor performance against the budget
- Oversee appropriate use and maintenance of individuals’ funds and program cash and credit accounts
- Provide specialized information, analysis, interpretation or application of laws, rules, policies, procedures, or program requirements
- Develop or recommend new laws, rules, policies, or procedures to address emerging trends
- Meet regularly with supervisors or specialized staff to problem-solve or ensure the successful operations of support services
- Delegate tasks to Supervisors as appropriate and as competency allows
- Oversee and facilitate team meetings to review and assist in the development and implementation of individuals’ goals, behavioral and medical needs, legal status or support, and in executing individual support plans
- Develop or manage vendor and service contracts. Track, monitor, and report on contract execution
- In partnership with Living Services Coordinator, ensure proper shift coverage
- Establish clear expectations
- Regularly monitor Living Services staff performance against standards, and provide constructive feedback to ensure individuals take ownership of their actions and outcomes, while consistently applying appropriate consequences when necessary
- Model accountability and professionalism as it relates to staff

The Manager makes recommendations and executes strategic objectives and plans set forth by administrators and agency leadership. Managers are accountable for the operational planning and preparation of short-term (one- to three-year) plans specific to Living Services. Managers develop operational plans of what will be focused on and how to reach the objective. Managers make recommendations to administrators with regard to the strategic plans or policy development.

We're looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
· Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in either Human services, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Nursing, Health Care administration, or equivalent experience.
· 2 years Management/Administrative experience, including budgeting
· Experience developing behavior plans
· Experience working with people who have a diagnosis of Acquired Brain Injury preferred
· 24/7 Residential care experience
· Ability to teach, empower, and support the team
· Previous experience in direct patient care is highly preferred
· Certified Brain Injury Specialist or willingness to achieve
· Microsoft Excel experience
· Self starter, creative, responsible, able to work independently
