Sanitation Food Manufacturing Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of food processing equipment and facilities adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations related to sanitation.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and compliance with industry standards maintaining accurate records of cleaning activities and reporting any deviations or issues.
• Operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely and efficiently handling and storing cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule sanitation activities without disrupting operations identifying areas for improvement in sanitation practices and recommending solutions.
• Participate in training sessions on sanitation protocols and food safety standards assisting in the development and implementation of sanitation policies and procedures.
• Respond promptly to sanitation-related emergencies or contamination incidents ensuring all waste and byproducts are disposed of according to environmental regulations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a food manufacturing or industrial sanitation role.
• Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene standards in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely.
• Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
• Familiarity with sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Physical ability to lift push and pull heavy equipment and materials.
• Capability to work in varying temperature conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts including nights weekends and holidays as needed.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
