Job Summary

  • Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our HIMS (Health Information Management Systems) EHR (Electronic Health Record) Analyst Team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a HIMS EHR Analyst! This position will lead planning, analysis, business process improvement, and solution support for EHR across DCT. This position provides solutions, support, administration, and maintenance of the Avatar system by applying knowledge through business process management, leadership, coordination, and maintenance. The primary focus is on Avatar design, development, standardization, maintenance, testing, and implementation of EHR for DCT Health Information Services.

    Primary responsibilities :

  • Lead, coordinate, and maintain EHR related to HIMS.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and maintain the correction process for EHR corrections.
  • Oversee, monitor, and coordinate the Electronic Signature / Practitioner Enrollment process for the EHR.
  • Lead, coordinate, administer, and maintain system security for the EHR.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and maintain the integrity of the Master Patient Index (MPI) within the EHR.
  • Lead, coordinate, analyze, and complete data requests, reports, or queries as requested from the EHR.
  • Working for the Minnesota Department of Human Services Direct Care & Treatment division PAYS!

  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Administrator by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA, formerly the American Medical Records Association)
  • Experience using and / or training on EHRs and the understanding of general EHR needs across multiple professional disciplines.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical information such as EHR wiki resources.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics in a way that users understand, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze organizational needs and design and develop effective, efficient solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, working both independently and in a team setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced computer and internet skills.
  • Knowledge of hospital systems and workflow.
  • Experience working with EHR systems and data to effectively translate EHR data into meaningful outcomes.
  • Experience with medical terminology.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records / computer systems and related software applications including MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate and present data to other professionals, including physicians, in a clear concise manner.
  • Knowledge and experience with quality improvement or patient safety.
