COMPENSATION: Typical starting range $19.10 - $20.56 hourly
STATUS & HOURS: Part-time, regular (approximately 624 annual hours) position. The hours for this position are based on events being scheduled and may vary week to week. Scheduling may include evenings and weekends.
BENEFITS: Eligible to participate in a retirement program with employer contribution. Generous vacation and sick time accruals.

DESCRIPTION: This position exists to facilitate and conduct the set-up, take down and operation of equipment for public events and rallies in public spaces at the Minnesota State Capitol. This position may also involve facilitating the set-up or rental events and programs at the Minnesota History Center on occasion.
SUMMARY OF WORK: 1) Conduct and oversee the set-up/take down of equipment and event furniture for public events, rallies, programs, and rental events; 2) Maintain site equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Demonstrated ability to instruct and direct others on set up needs and equipment retrieval.
Demonstrated ability to update records and keep track of event scheduling.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve amidst noisy and high-pressure situations.
Demonstrated flexibly to adjust to unusual and unexpected occurrences in the working environment.
Ability to lift and move 50 lbs.
Ability to learn and be guided by historic site preservation concerns, rules, and needs.
Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, sometimes on short notice.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with public address systems.
An understanding and command of historic site public use rules and policies.
