Evaluation: Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by the personnel team in accordance with board policy.
Compensation: $31,708-$77,838.75 annual salary, based on experience and education

Job Summary:
The General Education Advisor works up to 20 students in the completion of MNCS Curriculum/ Minnesota Standards requirements. Assists students in finding resources or completing steps of a project as needed. Keeps all attendance, transcripts, and records up to date and available. Advisors “check-in” with students for daily goal setting to address academic as well as personal goals. General Education Advisors participate in the proposal team process to create and evaluate student centered projects. Gen. Ed. Advisors also take an active role in site-based teams. Advisors take on additional duties as necessary, according to availability, skills, and talents. Experience in project based learning is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
- Work with up to 20 students
- Serve on a proposal team evaluating and awarding credit for projects
- Keep records of students including transcripts, state standards, and attendance up to date
- Advisors assist students in the project process by:
- brainstorming/outlining/design projects
- locating appropriate resources
- setting up schedules
- monitor progress
- Advisor will maintain a safe and respectful learning environment in their advisory and will use restorative justice to resolve any issues (holding circles with students and staff as necessary and following through with decisions made at circle)
- Conference with parents at least 3 times throughout the school year, and communicate students’ progress verbally or through written notification and arrange summer projects when necessary
- Assist with building cleaning/maintenance when necessary, during advisory cleaning week, before special events, and at end of school year
- Advisors attend all presentation nights and graduation and participate in events for marketing of the school
- Provide students with a minimum of 6 learning opportunities each year and 2 Experience Weeks. Design activities for all students which promotes student’s academic, transitional and behavioral goals
- Assist students with math, by teaching or co-teaching a class
MNCS Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with giving tours of MNCS and communicating the mission and vision to guests, and the dissemination of the MNCS model, and marketing the school
- Develop and carry out yearly professional development plan (PDP team)
- Follow direction of EdVisions Coop and the Board of Directors
- Chaperone events and field trips, and supervise outside PE and archery, as needed.
- Serve on at least 1 site based management teams and 1 PDP Team
- Attend all presentations nights, senior presentation nights, and graduation unless pre-approved by personnel team
- Refer to letter of employment for work schedule
- Participate in Staff Evaluation Process and Self Evaluation Process
- Follow established procedures for school purchases
- Attend staff meetings and scheduled staff training and retreats
- Request PTO days (absences etc.) with personnel team
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises students in multiple educational settings

Education and Experience:
Teaching Degree is required in major area of study
Three years outside experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License in the area of specialty/ Secondary.
Multiple disciplinary licensure
Communication Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals consistent with the duties of this position.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, and general public.
Mathematical skills:
- Ability to apply concepts such as basic arithmetic calculations, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations that are directly related to the duties of this position.
