What are the responsibilities and job description for the Minnesota Wild Foundation Intern position at Minnesota Wild?
This full-time paid internship supports the development and execution of the day-to-day activities of the Minnesota Wild Foundation, including development of relationships with Foundation community partners and beneficiaries, planning and execution of fundraising events, and other activities as assigned. Candidates should be reliable, passionate, professional, motivated and detail oriented. This full-time paid internship is an excellent opportunity for recent undergraduate or graduate students seeking an internship opportunity within a professional sports and entertainment organization.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Assist with Foundation programming, fundraising initiatives and events (goal puck program, gala, online auctions, in-game sales).
- Work closely with youth hockey associations to coordinate game night program sales.
- Assist with and execute Foundation administrative needs and other miscellaneous assignments or new projects as needed.
- CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database management input and customer communication.
- Assist with research and vetting of potential in-market donor prospects.
- Other duties or tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
- Recent college graduate with a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences or related field.
Knowledge & Experience
- Sports philanthropy experience preferred in the areas of community relations, non-profit or event management.
- Passion and understanding of hockey, specifically community-based hockey in Minnesota, is highly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on a team and independently.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Specifically Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) preferred not required.
- Experience working with Fundraising and Donor management software (specifically GiveSmart) preferred not required.

Work Conditions
- Candidate must be available to work nights and weekends and most home Wild games.
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Candidate must have the ability to stand for 2-4 hours at games and events.
- Walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, squatting, grasping, pushing/pulling.
