Minuteman is recruiting for a full-time Physical Security Program Manager contractor position at Merck, a global biopharmaceutical leader with a diverse portfolio of prescription medicines, oncology, vaccines, and animal health products.

What you’ll be doing (and doing well!):
The Program Manager for Merck’s Global Security Group (GSG) North America Team supports/assists with project management, Command Centers, various Assessments, supports security systems and platforms, conducts risk analysis, and implements threat mitigation.
The Program Manager will respond timely to these matters as guided by the Executive Director and/or Director Physical Security CoE. The Program Manager will follow policies and procedures to adequately mitigate, resolve, escalate, or otherwise appropriately address physical security matters at hand. In this role, the Program Manager will engage with various areas of the GSG and Site Security Teams concerning physical security systems and platforms.
The role requires internal collaboration by participating in biweekly and ad hoc meetings with Team members, to provide updates on investigative matters. Collaboration across various areas of the business and with vendors is vital.
Responsibilities:
- Physical Security System Deployment: Assist with physical security system initiatives to ensure effective implementation and operational integrity.
- Technical Guidelines Development: Create and edit comprehensive written technical standards that establish and maintain security protocols and deployment strategies.
- Physical Security System Inquiries: Handle inquiries related to Enterprise Physical Security Systems data for the Americas region.
- Assessment Readiness: Recommend and oversee compliance with specialized security policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Training Coordination: Lead training initiatives with key stakeholders to ensure efficient use of Enterprise Physical Security Systems, and productivity in their roles.
- Liaison Role: Act as a liaison with the Physical Security Center of Excellence (CoE), overseeing procedures related to system access.
- System Administration Support: Administer Enterprise Physical Security Systems to facilitate user onboarding and offboarding, user account requests/changes, and any other requests that arise.
- Technical Advisor Role: Provide consultation and expertise on Enterprise Physical Security Systems, including IT infrastructure & Engineering Standards.
- System Security Program Management: Assist in developing, evaluating, and managing compliance of the Physical Security Program and related documentation.
- Program Document Evaluation: Review and assess all program documents, collaborating with the Global Program Manager to resolve System Security challenges.
- Contractor Deliverables Review: Critically assess items and deliverables from both prime and subcontractors to ensure compliance with Physical Security CoE standard requirements.
- Design Compliance Assessment: Review security designs and drawings to ensure alignment to physical security and engineering standards.
- Presentation Preparation: Prepare and present findings and recommendations for critical meetings.
- Test Activity Development: Assist in software development lifecycle activities to ensure physical security requirements are met.
- Risk Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and identify potential security risks, prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations for mitigation.
- Integrated System Design and Implementation: Assist with the design and implementation of standard physical security systems for company sites across the enterprise.
- Project Coordination: Interface with authorized vendors, security design consultants, enterprise IT, internal support teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project lifecycle management.
- IT Support Collaboration: Work with the internal IT Support Organization to ensure a streamlined support model for physical security systems across the enterprise.
- License Management: Assist with administration and vendor license management processes for Enterprise Physical Security Systems to ensure competitive pricing and continuity of system deployments.
- Vendor Management: Assist with the management and negotiation of annual support contracts with external vendors for consistent regional support.
- External Relationship Management: Engage with external stakeholders to ensure the viability of physical security systems and to maximize investment through lifecycle management.
- System Solutions Development: Provide solutions for specific security concerns identified through internal customer requests and inspections.
- Operational Process Development: Develop and maintain processes to uphold and modify the company's Global Security Standards, as necessary.
- Vulnerability Assessment: Administer processes for physical security vulnerability assessments and inspections for guard operations and security systems.
- Product and Project Management: Conduct research, feasibility studies, project planning, and vendor management to ensure that all project documents are turned over to GSG and the client.
- Continuous Improvement: Leverage benchmarking to identify leading industry practices for ongoing improvement.
- Support for GSG Team: Assist in report generation, system programming, architecture, administration, and other aspects of physical security systems to ensure optimal uptime.
- Demand Process Coordination: Collaborate with Enterprise Information Technology in the scoping process and prioritize requests to ensure alignment with GSG strategies.
- User Permission Assessments: Develop reports and tools to assess user permissions for Enterprise Physical Security Systems and report compliance to Global Security management.
- User Account Administration: Manage Physical Security System user accounts, roles, and permissions according to CoE Standards.
- Regional Coordination: Coordinate with regional CoE Leads for the delivery of GSG programs.
- Ongoing User Training and Support: Conduct internal training for Enterprise Physical Security Systems including the creation and development of training materials as well as follow-up support.
What we Like about you:
- 5 years of security project management experience in industry or government
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Management experience regarding security and safety, including IT and facility management.
- In-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art security equipment standards and technology encompassing all physical security products.
- Advanced knowledge of information, personnel and premises security processes and procedures and ability to develop and maintain appropriate levels of security.
- Knowledge of and ability to employ internal controls and to enhance business strategies for the purpose of detecting, delaying, assessing, responding, and preventing loss and protecting assets.
- Proven ability to operate within a matrixed working environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Advanced Microsoft skills i.e. Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledgeable in SQL
