CDL Driver - Natural Gas Utility Construction
A Gas Utility CDL Driver’s responsibilities include working closely with Foremen and other team members to install gas facilities and other civil infrastructure. In addition to tasks outside the truck, CDL Drivers must demonstrate a willingness to listen and learn, prioritize safety, and exhibit a genuine desire to work in the utility industry. Responsibilities
- Operate a CDL vehicle hauling, loading & unloading material from jobsites and vendors
- Assist the crew with tasks, including hand digging and other activities.
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections
- Conduct regular vehicle maintenance and report maintenance needs
- Use various hand and power tools throughout various projects
- Perform tool and vehicle maintenance
- Fuel equipment with proper fuel
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Train workers to promote career growth
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Demonstrate Safe practices by leading by example
- Maintain positive working relationships internally and with external constituents
- Work with the crew to complete work including various activities such as hand digging
Education, Skills, Experience Needed
· Prior experience in gas utility industry highly desired
· Commitment to performing quality work with a strong focus on safety.
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work with others and take direction
· Ability to follow instructions and work independently
· NGA Operator Qualifications Highly Desired
Requirements
· Valid CDL A or B Driver’s license
· A 2A or higher Massachusetts Hydraulics License is highly desired
· Ability to pass and maintain Operator Qualifications as assigned
· Ability to pass pre- and post-employment DOT drug screenings
· Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
· Ability to obtain satisfactory results of a background check
· Ability to Lift 50lbs independently
· Hand digging as required
· Work outdoors in all weather conditions
