Position Title: Sanitation Technician β Night Shift
Reports to: Sanitation Supervisor
Position Summary
Entry level position in Sanitation. This position is responsible for the daily execution of sanitation SSOP on assigned areas in a safely under the general direction of Sanitation leadership, the Sanitation Tech will work in an environment performing sanitation functions. Under the supervision of the Sanitation Supervisor the incumbent will perform all aspects of equipment and building sanitation for a fresh food (produce) processing plant. Must be able to work closely with others, have a good work ethic and be willing to work varied hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks assigned based on Misionero sanitation program.
- Disassemble, clean/sanitize, and reassemble equipment.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, walls, floors, equipment, or any other areas of the facility with correct chemicals/cleaning agents and scrubbing materials.
- Ability to visually read labels and chemical information. Will be required to know how to read Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Properly and safely mix chemicals per label instructions.
- Work around moving equipment and cleaning chemicals withing the plant.
- Ability to safely and continually lift and lower, push/pull - totes, pipes; trash cans that range up to 100 pounds.
- Will be required to work with chemicals to sanitize equipment.
- Must understand and follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- Must understand the purpose of Personal Protective Equipment and adhere to all requirements.
- Follows Food Safety & Sanitation operational policies and procedures, including GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment.
- Must be able to use ladders and other required tools needed to perform the job (i.e. brooms, water, air hoses, etc.)
- Required to work independently and with limited supervision.
- Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/ procedures.
- Willing to cross train
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule
- One year experience

Wil be using equipment and machinery: Zamboni machine, pallet jack, water hoses, floor scrubber and hand truck.
