What are the responsibilities and job description for the Worship Pastor position at MISSION Community Church?

The Worship Pastor will create an environment where people are led to offer their worship to God in a manner that is Christ-focused, culturally sensitive and musically effective.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Worship Pastor will work closely with the service programming team in organizing, leading and developing the adult worship services and various worship ministries.
Works closely with the music director to program set-lists for all services and special events.
Leads worship for Sunday adult worship services, both musically and with spoken pastoral moments.
Responsible for pastoring and investing time in the worship team to help them grow spiritually.
Works with the Music Director to identify, recruit, and develop leaders, musicians, and vocalists.
Responsible for putting together special worship services; holidays etc.
Works closely with the Service Programming Pastor and Teaching Pastor to develop weekend and special services. Ensures that any special songs are appropriate for sermons or other themes.
Mentors and helps develop youth worship leaders.
Works with the production team to collaborate on look, feel, and sound for all worship related services and events

Requirements:

A strong walk with God demonstrating a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Worship Pastor must possess ample musical abilities and leadership skills to lead worship, build teams, teach skills, and shepherd people. Ministry experience, must have served as a worship leader or worship team leader at a local church.
The Worship Pastor will be expected to attend regular meetings as well as other planned events.
