A well-established law firm is seeking a Counsel to join its Labor & Employment Department, specifically working with the hospitality team. This is an opportunity to work with some of New York's most popular restaurants, boutique hotels, and entertainment venues. The role involves a significant amount of day-to-day employment counseling regarding wage and hour, discrimination, and general employment matters.
Qualifications :
Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
Strong research, writing skills, and academic record.
Experience as a first-chair handling litigation concerning discrimination and / or wage and hour claims.
Experience counseling on New York State and New York City employment matters.
Preferred experience in labor relations within the hospitality industry.
Familiarity with the New York State Hospitality Wage Order is strongly preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands :
Office setting with standard office equipment use.
Sedentary work with occasional walking and standing.
Close visual acuity required for computer use and reading.
Compensation & Benefits :
Salary range : $285,000 - $310,000 (subject to experience, education, and market factors).
Comprehensive benefits package available.
Additional Information :
