Cardiac Sonographer

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiograms and support quality patient care within a cardiology department. This mid-level, in-person role is based in Middlebury, VT, and requires a detail-oriented professional who can operate in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Cardiac Sonographer will work under the guidance of clinical providers and the Cardiology Practice Manager to maintain echocardiography services in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform echocardiograms as ordered by physicians, prioritizing trauma and critically ill patients.
• Maintain echocardiography services in compliance with American Society of Echocardiography standards and state and federal regulations.
• Ensure the daily technical operation of the laboratory.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director, medical staff, and technical staff to maintain high-quality patient care.
• Select appropriate ultrasound techniques to achieve optimal imaging results.
• Position and instruct patients regarding procedures.
• Maintain required records, documents, and statistics related to echocardiography services.
• Perform equipment maintenance, manage supplies, and ensure all resources are readily available.
• Adhere to hospital and cardiology department policies and procedures.
• Participate in both in-service and external professional educational programs.
• Attend cardiology department meetings and support ongoing quality improvement efforts.

Must Haves:

• Certification: RDCS from ARDMS, CCI, or CRCS by CARDUP (required within one year of hire).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.

Nice to Haves:

• Three years of Echocardiography experience or equivalent education and training preferred.

Location: Middlebury, VT

Salary Range: $71,531 – $107,286
