We have a full-time Assistant Director of Facilities position available with Missions Inc. Programs, which includes multiple buildings located on our beautiful 38-acre campus located on the North Shore of Medicine Lake in Plymouth, MN.
The Assistant Director of Facilities, in collaboration with the Facilities Director, is responsible for the oversight of mechanical infrastructure, safety and security, and capital improvements of multiple facilities located on our 38-acre campus and two off-site locations. This role will require some supervisory responsibilities as well as a working knowledge of fire safety and building codes.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist Director with hiring, supervising and training of maintenance staff in accordance with Missions Inc. policies;
- Maintain campus equipment (boilers and related equipment) to ensure safe operating conditions at all times;
- Coordinate the work schedules and on call coverage for maintenance staff;
- Prioritize and distribute work orders, special projects and responsibilities to maintenance staff and work program participants, and provide oversight to completion;
- Function as a Safety Officer for Missions Inc. including ongoing training for all safety policies and procedures; training of staff and new hires; monthly fire and safety drills to maintain compliance;
- Assist Director in development of annual capital expenditure budget working with program directors and finance director;
- Arrange for purchase of services from outside providers securing bids and cost-effective quality service;
- Establish and maintain lock-out/tag out system and documentation;
- Perform electrical maintenance, including but not limited to, replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, replace ballasts, sockets, fuses, appliances, cords, etc.)
- Perform plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, replace plumbing fixtures, hot water tanks, radiant heat piping, boilers;
- Perform carpentry and masonry work;
- Perform groundskeeping and lawn mowing, snow removal, and general maintenance of parking areas;
- Perform vehicle repair;
- Perform appliance repair;
- Schedule preventative maintenance on boilers and RTUs to prolong life of equipment and perform and/or delegate to Maintenance Technician.
Position Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent;
- Must be 21 years of age or older;
- Minimum two years of experience independently performing building and grounds maintenance tasks including HVAC, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and boiler maintenance;
- Must some supervisory experience is preferred;
- Special Engineer boiler operator’s license or the ability to obtain one;
- Basic computer knowledge and functions including emailing and Windows;
- Must possess a valid MN drivers’ license and maintain a clean driving record;
- Must pass required background checks;
- Ability to work independently requiring little or no supervision;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work well with persons of diverse backgrounds;
- Must be reliable with the ability to work on-call as scheduled including weekends and evenings.
Other Requirements
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasionally 75 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, and kneeling.
- Climb ladder heights to 20 feet.
- Requires working around machinery, exposure to inclement weather such as working outside in the rain, snow, cold, and heat; driving automotive and handling equipment, and exposure to dust.
Compensation
Salary range of 56,000-60,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include individual health and dental insurance, 403b retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, ten paid holidays and PTO (paid time off).
