Description of Primary Duties
The Student Specialist for SOFAC is responsible for working with the SOFAC Graduate Assistant to supervise day to day operations of the SOFAC proposal, allocation, and reimbursement systems, and to provide ongoing support to student organizations that are seeking funding and require assistance.
Job Functions
A. Provide daily support and guidance for approximately 100 student organizations seeking funding
1. Be knowledgeable of SOFAC guidelines
2. Meet with organization leaders to answer questions regarding paperwork, policies, and procedures
3. Serve as the liaison between the Office of Student Engagement and student organizations and advisors through supportive communication

B. Provide administrative support to SOFAC staff
1. Assist Graduate Assistant with administrative functions—checking organizations’ active status and verifying requirements have been met
2. Correspond with SOFAC council regarding meetings, updates, and changes
3. Prepare meeting materials (agendas, proposals, charts, nametags, etc.)
4. Organize files and otherwise help with the flow and filing of documentation
5. Help update the SOFAC website to keep it both current and informative

Required Qualifications
A. Must be enrolled as a full time Missouri State University student in at least 12 credit hours.
B. Must maintain good academic standing (at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA), good disciplinary standing.
C. Must be able to work an average of 15 hours/week
D. Must attend all SOFAC trainings and meetings (various times according to schedule)

Required Certifications
Additional Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft office suite programs, especially Excel. Knowledge of the Office of Student Engagement and its functions, including student organizations and the usage of Bearlink. This position would start in Fall 2025.
