TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, NEUROSCIENCE FENG LAB, McGovern Institute for Brain Research (2 openings), to work in the laboratory of Professor Guoping Feng. Professor Feng is leading a large collaborative effort to use marmosets as model animals for the study and treatment of complex brain disorders such as autism and schizophrenia. Will primarily be responsible for monitoring anesthesia during surgical procedures; assisting in various surgical procedures and post-surgical care; coordinating collaborations with various labs; performing tissue collection, storage, and distribution; and updating animal protocols and databases. Will be trained in all of these tasks. Will also participate in the daily care of animals, provide general experimental support, coordinate schedules between researchers/veterinarians/staff, handle surgery tool preparation/sterilization/cleanup, and perform data organization.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences, biology, neuroscience, or a related field; two years of laboratory research experience (which may included experience gained as an undergraduate); excellent organizational and communication skills; initiative; meticulous attention to detail; flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
