What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cultivation Compliance Lead position at Mitten Distro/Mitten Extracts?
The Cultivation Compliance Lead is the leader of the Cultivation Compliance TEAM.
This Lead must have an ultra-high attention to detail along with a high accountability. They will have the skillsets for creating and executing the processes, work instructions, and techniques necessary to ensure full regulatory compliance at every step of the cultivation process.
As the Cultivation Compliance Lead you will:
· Be responsible and accountable for the cultivation department’s compliance and METRC execution.
· Lead one Compliance Technician direct report in their day-to-day activities.
· Perform regular audits of clones, plants, plant tags, harvest batches, package tags, as well as cultivation product in all stages of post-harvest.
· Manage inventory for plant tags, package tags, labels, label maker supplies, and other METRC admin supplies.
· Communicate with manufacturing and distribution to ensure clarity throughout all processes and hand-offs.
· Work heavily with METRC & Excel
- We are currently using METRC & Excel but may transition to alternate business operating systems as needed.
- Work on a computer for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Must have a greater than proficient understanding of both METRC and Excel. Significant portions of the day are spent working with these platforms and the actions performed within can greatly impact the cultivation team’s compliance and subsequent success. Uncaught errors can be devastating for the entire team and any customer or department downstream.
- Must understand how platforms differ from each other, how they communicate with one another, and how to identify sync errors between the two systems.
- Accurately complete data entry in Excel or other data systems.

· Within this role, attention to detail is critical. As the Compliance Lead, you are responsible for information accuracy across all cultivation compliance.
· Accurately enter data in METRC and Excel. Errors in any step can create non-compliance issues, which cannot be tolerated.
· Understand the CRA’s requirements for cultivation operations.
· Work with our Local Compliance Business Administrator to stay up to date on state compliance regulations and collaborate with management to institute any process alterations based on these regulation changes.
· Exhibit honesty and integrity, bringing any mistakes to management so that they can be addressed as quickly as possible.
o Mistakes often have solutions, but allowing mistakes to continue through our system can create irrevocable non-compliance issues that affect not only our own organization, but also the hundreds of wholesale and retail partners we do business with.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by a Team Member to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
The TeamMember must have the ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs and maneuver between cultivation room equipment. They must also be able to maintain a fast pace throughout their work day.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position is full-time hourly. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. (Hours are subject to change), depending on the schedule. Overtime is sometimes required during the week or weekends.
AGE REQUIREMENT
Must be 21 years of age (State Requirement)
COMPENSATION
$23.00 per hour
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Basic math skills.
- High school Diploma
- METRC Cultivation Training Certificate
