Human Resources Duties:
- Complete, process, verify, and maintain all personnel related documentation, including paperwork for new hires, promotions, payroll changes, terminations, leaves of absence, counseling forms, and all other personnel changes.
- Lead the full-cycle recruitment process. Partner with plant leadership on open positions, create job descriptions as needed, and post openings. Interview candidates with supervisors and support hiring decisions. Handle all recruitment communications including being the main contact person for all temporary agencies.
- Coordinate pre-employment tasks, prepare for, and conduct new hire orientations with new hires to ensure an exceptional first day experience.
- Process employee requests and handle employee changes within Mittera’s HR system (Paylocity).
- Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures for the plant and help interpret policies and procedures for employees.
- Assist the Human Resources Manager with payroll related tasks as needed.
- Support human resource-related training sessions such as benefit enrollment training or any safety-related training.
- Be an active participant of Mittera Wisconsin’s events committee, assisting with the coordination and planning of events.
- Assist with the creation of the monthly employee newsletter and handing the newsletter out to employees.
- Manage the Mittera Wisconsin Facebook page, posting regularly to help build our brand within our local community.
- Work collaboratively with leadership, management, and staff to sustain strong work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, enhance employee engagement, and preserve talent retention.
- Provide backup to the Human Resources Manager in their absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety Coordinator Duties:
- Be the main contact person for all safety-related matters for Mittera Wisconsin – handle all communications from corporate safety team and communicate meeting topics with Human Resources Manager and General Manager.
- Effectively prepare for, lead, and follow up on safety committee meetings. Address any questions or concerns from safety committee members, follow up on meeting discussions, and delegate safety-related tasks as necessary.
- Lead all safety-related meetings. Communicate the need for the meeting, schedule meetings with all necessary team members, prepare materials, and lead the entire duration of the meetings.
- Lead all safety-related projects – take ownership of each project, determining what needs to be completed and who needs to be involved. Effectively lead the project by delegating tasks and following through to ensure each task gets completed timely.
- Lead the investigation of accidents and injuries, identify possible causes, and assist in the creation of accident cause corrective measures.
- Perform monthly tasks as required by our Regional Environmental Health and Safety Manager and maintain record of our plant’s safety files.
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
- Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as regulatory agencies, fire, and insurance personnel.
- Communicate any safety concerns that arise immediately to the Human Resources Manager and General Manager.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- 1-3 years of experience in HR, safety, administration, or a similar role.Strong understanding of HR functions, policies, and labor laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in handling confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HR software (e.g., Paylocity).
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
