Director - Warehouse Operations and Logistics

The Director of Warehouse Operations and Logistics is responsible for the overall operational administration and management of the MJB Wood Group’s five warehouses, facilities, and logistics. This role will develop and implement strategies for improving key performance indicators including inventory accuracy, capacity utilization, incident rates, and overtime. The Director of Warehouse Operations and Logistics will ensure inventory is accounted for in a safe and efficient manner to identified customer partners and establish and maintain workflow processes as necessary to meet delivery goals as well as performance standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Warehouse Operations and Logistics will plan and implement strategies to meet outlined goals and fulfill responsibilities, as related but not limited to:

Operations

• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize warehouse operations and improve efficiency and productivity.
• Oversee the overall functioning of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track warehouse performance. Monitor and analyze data to identify trends, address issues, and continuously improve warehouse operations.
• Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as supply chain, transportation, and customer service, to align warehouse operations with overall business objectives.
• Manage and motivate a team of warehouse staff, providing leadership, training, and development opportunities.
• Implement best practices and latest technologies to optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and material handling processes.
• Evaluate and select suppliers and service providers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of warehouse-related services.
• Monitor inventory levels and develop strategies to minimize stock-outs and excess inventory. Work closely with demand planning and procurement teams to ensure accurate forecasting.
• Collaborate with IT teams to enhance warehouse management systems (WMS) and implement automation and technology solutions to streamline warehouse operations.
• Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in warehouse management practices, equipment, and technology.
• Serves as a member of the Leadership team and as such is responsible for providing leadership in decision-making and vision building for MJB Wood Group.

Facilities / Equipment

• Ensures equipment and facility are operational while identifying opportunities for improvement to reduce waste and manage repair needs.
• Oversees preventative maintenance for vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
• Suggests replacement schedule for facility systems, equipment, and vehicles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Distribution/Logistics Systems: 5 years (Preferred)
• Management experience in operational roles: 5 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

• 75% (Preferred)
