Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician/Assistant with 3–5 years of experience in 2D plotting and CAD software to support our design and fabrication teams. This position plays a critical role in producing accurate technical drawings and bundling plot packages for the welding department, ensuring seamless production flow and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (such as AutoCAD or similar) to create and revise 2D dimensional drawings and blueprints.
- Generate detailed technical sketches from engineering notes, rough sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Prepare and bundle plotted drawing sets for the welding/fabrication department, ensuring completeness and clarity.
- Assist with layout planning, design detailing, and plotting of various project components.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and the welding team to coordinate drawing updates and modifications.
- Maintain an organized digital and physical archive of all CAD files and plot sets.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards, project specifications, and industry codes.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, DraftSight, SolidWorks 2D, etc.).
- Strong understanding of 2D plotting, dimensional detailing, and technical drafting.
- Experience in preparing bundled plot packages for production or fabrication teams.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes, especially welding, is a strong plus.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
