Job Title: Medical Receptionist
Objective: Primary objective is to provide clerical support within the Department, or Clinic-wide when requested, adhere to all policies and procedures of Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and meet the needs of our patients in a teamwork approach.

Combination of office and clinical settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases and potential exposure to bodily fluids.
Physical / Mental Demands
Varied activities including sitting, walking, bending, reaching, lifting and stooping. Ability to lift 35 pounds. Ability to stoop and bend. Stress from multiple responsibilities.

All representatives of the Pediatric Department are expected to 1) promote an image of professionalism, 2) perform all duties asked of them in a timely and efficient manner, and 3) focus primarily on providing excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities
- To have a positive attitude and practice teamwork.
- Make the patients happy.
- Answer all the patient’s questions.
- Keep the Clinic clean.
- Meet or exceed patient, doctor and staff expectations through a cooperative, teamwork approach.
- Greet patients and answer incoming calls in a polite, prompt and helpful manner.
- Manage flow of patients or other vendors/guests from point of check-in through check-out. Answer questions regarding patient appointments.
- Complete necessary paperwork or assist patient with completing paperwork as required. Obtain signatures as necessary.
- Obtain demographic, insurance or other information from patient as required.
- Take telephone messages which are legible and obtain all required information.
- Collect co-payments or other patient-responsible balances, issue receipts, prepare deposit and maintain cash drawer daily.
- Organize needed charts and fee tickets for patient appointments.
- Schedule, coordinate and reschedule patient appointments as instructed by physician. Confirm appointments for pending appointment.
- Help with faxes from physicians, nurses for patient care when time allows.
- Be at your workstation and ready to start your job at 7:45 a.m.
- You may be required to stay past 5:00 p.m. as needed to accommodate after hour patients.
- Avoid personal telephone calls and personal business during clinic operating hours.
- With instruction, anything else ask of me to help the department run smoothly.
- Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all OSHA guidelines.
- Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all MMC policies and procedures.

- Ability to utilize computer systems for the purpose of completed assigned tasks.
