Position Overview :

The Chief Credit Officer will be integral to driving Mobilization Funding’s mission of sustainable, calculated growth by establishing a strong credit framework that supports the company's strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Credit Officer will oversee all aspects of credit risk management, credit policy development, and credit strategy execution in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Key responsibilities include :

1.    Overseeing Credit Risk Management : Lead the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of credit risks across the portfolio, ensuring prudent lending practices while balancing risk and reward to support business growth.

2.     Shaping and Implementing Credit Policies : Develop and refine credit policies and procedures that align with the company’s growth strategy and regulatory requirements, promoting consistency, transparency, and compliance while fostering an agile lending environment.

3.     Driving Credit Strategy : Formulate and implement innovative credit strategies that align with the company's long-term vision for expansion, optimizing portfolio performance while maintaining a customer-focused approach.

Each of these critical functions will directly contribute to the organization’s ability to scale responsibly, ensuring a well-calculated, data-driven approach to growth that maximizes opportunity while minimizing risk.

Roles and Responsibilities

Credit Risk Management

  • Develop and implement robust credit policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure effective credit risk management.
  • Oversee the credit approval process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and manage the credit portfolio to maintain a balanced approach to risk and reward.
  • Conduct regular credit reviews and stress tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Oversee the workout, liquidation, and reporting of problem loans, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.

Leadership And Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of credit professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and growth, ensuring competence and capacity as the Company grows.
  • Ensure the credit team is well-trained and equipped to perform at their best.
  • Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the Company’s goals and objectives of growth.
  • Provide valuable insights and recommendations on credit-related matters to the Executive Team.
  • Embrace technology and streamline processes for greater efficiency, enhancing service delivery both internally and externally.
  • Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure the Company’s credit operations comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and auditors during examinations and audits.
  • Reporting And Analysis

  • Prepare regular reports on the credit portfolio's performance, highlighting key metrics and trends.
  • Analyze market conditions and economic trends to assess their impact on the Company’s credit portfolio, making data-driven decisions.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, or related field.
  • Chief Credit Officer at a bank or on-bank lender OR 7 years of experience in a Portfolio Management position.
  • Experience and familiarity with the construction industry.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional computer skills - Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
