What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Supplier inbound and Part Quality position at MOBIS PARTS AMERICA LLC?
Responsible for all aspects of inbound quality within the Supply Chain Operations organization. Supports the management of implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of the inbound quality management process across Supply, Transportation, and PDC Operations. Will have full responsibility as the corporate lead and champion over the Inbound PDC OS&D Management and recovery process from internal and external local suppliers. Own the evaluation and tracking of OS&D KPI trends and the development/execution of continuous improvement focused on improvement projects driving reduction in Total Pending PDC OS&D. Responsible for the over site, advancement, and resolution of supplier/provider claims with direct influence over PDC Inbound Compliance Specialists that lead PDC Stock Inspections & related Supplier Claims for MPA Reimbursement. With direct functional reports in all Parts Distribution Centers, has the ownership of managing all part inspection, re-packing, re-labeling, and execution of parts quality related initiatives. Will partner with packaging engineer to identify opportunities and consult on packaging design improvements with a focus on suppliers. The SME for interfacing with Hyundai and Kia brand leadership representing and championing for the support of all Inbound Supplier quality related initiatives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the PDC Quality with focus on Inbound Compliance and Supplier Claims in support of Quality Improvements for the entire MPA PDC Network. This will include performance management and metric reporting with KPIs such as Weekly Pending OS&D Reporting, Supplier Claim Acceptance reporting to CEO, and Quarterly Supplier Scorecards. Ensure that the PDC & inbound team members are meeting or exceeding the goals and objectives outlined in the MPA business plan.
- Primary leadership role leading, supervising, enforcing and administering Quality Parts Inspections at all PDC’s. Will ensure that Inbound Parts Compliance Specialists are diligent and effective in the collection of part inspection results and communicating the results to MPA HQ Quality Team in a timely manner. Provide supervision to the HQ Part Inspection Specialist in tracking completion of all PDC Part Inspections and submissions of the related supplier claims including final inventory disposition.
- Ownership for Supplier Claims processing and review the suppliers processing timing with the KPI data. Will supervise process, and administer the claims processing back to HQ, RDC or Local sources for MPA to recover losses due to supplier’s defects, negligence or issues. Ensure that MPA recovers the maximum amount of claim through supplier claim acceptance.
- Partner with Sr. Packaging Engineer on the packaging design, development and improvement efforts for Suppliers. Coordinates with MHQ, MAL/RDC and local suppliers to ensure that proper packaging is utilized for parts and accessories to avoid damages and customer relation issues. Will collaborate with the field, customers, dealers, HQ and other sources to ensure supplier packaging quality.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Lead the enforcement of proper inbound processing and related supplier claim submission to ensure all supplier claims are submitted by the PDCs/Supply on-time and with the proper evidence for approval. Partner with PDCs to root cause any rejections to due lack of submission adherence (15%)
- Supplier Claims performance tracking including submission rate, acceptance rate, and on-time judgement by suppliers. Review performance with key suppliers on a quarterly basis. Ensure timely and maximum recovery of all supplier claims submitted. (10%)
- Drive system enhancements for the supplier claim process to include automated submission of the dealer claims that are due to supplier liability and automated resubmission of claims where MPA doesn’t agree with the judgement
- Resolve dealer and customer concerns regarding all supplier part quality issues. Coordinate with MHQ Korea and Mobis Alabama on customers towards the effective resolution of part quality issues. Issue stock inspection to PDCs to quarantine and check parts for defects/packaging errors (15%)
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert on Supplier Claims and OS&D processing. Daily management of Pending PDC OS&D KPIs and drive the PDCs to hit their individual $ OS&D targets and total network $ by improving inbound processes and supplier claim submissions. Documentation and continuous improvement of the processes and systems utilized to manage and resolve Pending OS&D (30%).
- Supervise, enforce and administer inbound quality KPIs and improvement initiatives across all PDCs. Ensure that the Inbound Parts Compliance Specialists at each PDC are diligent and effective in the collection of quality issues, stock inspections, and development of countermeasure plans and follow through of recovery actions (15%)
- Ensure the timely and efficient processing of KPI reports by HQ Analyst reporting directly and alert management of potential issues and risks to the organization based on the report KPIs (15%)
XPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar field. Combination of education and experience in parts distribution and quality focus within the automotive or related industry.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 5-7 Years’ experience in Parts Distribution with a quality focus within the automotive or related industry.
- Minimum 2-4 years in a supervisory / leadership role.
- Prior parts distribution network experience.
- Supply chain management or transportation management experience
- Experience in working under a Lean/Six Sigma culture
Work schedule/hours Travel
8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Hybrid) Occasional overnight travel (up to 20%) by land and/or air.
