JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Concierge
SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Director of Community Development
STATUS: Hourly / Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
1. Greet visitors and family members and provide non-confidential information requested
2. Answer the telephone promptly using the appropriate greeting for the community
3. Sorting mail and distributing to appropriate departments
4. Type and file correspondence and other information forms and materials
5. Adhere to and interpret resident’s rights
6. Adhere to and interpret the personnel policies
7. Use of computers, calculators, copy machines, postage machines, etc
8. Express concern and compassion for residents and families
9. Escort people, if necessary, to resident’s suites and other areas
10. Keep referral, mailing list and customer information up-to-date.
11. Assist with data input to appropriate databases.
12. Assist with the processing of all required information necessary to complete a successful move-in, as requested.
13. Perform day-to-day clerical work connected with the position.
14. Ensure knowledge base remains current regarding aging, assisted living and dementia-specific care through continuing education.
15. Assist with the setting-up and tearing down of special events. Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
16. Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
17. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all team members, residents and guests, following established safety standards.
18. Perform other duties consistent with position as assigned by the Director of Community Development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of one year experience working in long-term care
industry, preferred.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to perform calculations needed for tracking referrals,
preparing reports and completing paperwork.
Reasoning Skills:
Understand complex issues and ability to make decisions
and prioritize requirements of the job.
Demonstrates exceptional communications skills, both verbally and written in dealing with referral sources, residents, family members and co-workers. Typing, filing, use of copy machine, telephone systems, intercommunication system and office equipment. Be knowledgeable regarding resident rights, confidentiality, how to meet the public and answer questions, team member handbook and census.
Equipment Used:
Be proficient in basic office equipment (including a personal
computer) for the purpose of accomplishing and maintaining a high level of job performance.
Physical Effort:
Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test result not more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment.

Ability to show sincere compassion towards older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families. Displays a team spirit in performance of daily duties. Possesses good character and displays personal integrity.
Be friendly, courteous, patient, understanding, and work well with people, including team members, residents, families, meet deadlines, organize and prioritize the work load.
Must be able to stay clam and courteous despite the constant interruptions of the front desk, which is the hub of the community.

Well-lighted office with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels.

Team Member must pass a criminal record clearance
prior to beginning work in the community.
