Job Summary:
As an IT Specialist at Modern, you will play a key role in maintaining the firm’s technology infrastructure, ensuring data security, and providing top-tier technical support. You will collaborate closely with tax professionals and other departments to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient operation of our IT systems. Your work will help maintain client confidentiality and streamline the complex operations of tax compliance and consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide timely and effective IT support for staff, resolving hardware and software issues.
- Network Administration: Maintain and monitor network performance, ensuring secure and uninterrupted access for all team members.
- System Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain computers, servers, and software applications used by the firm.
- Data Security: Ensure the protection of sensitive client and firm data by implementing cybersecurity best practices, performing system backups, and conducting regular audits.
- Software Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of specialized tax and accounting software (e.g., SigerTax, TaxNet, SharePoint).
- User Training: Conduct training sessions to familiarize employees with new software and technology tools.
- Cloud Services: Manage cloud-based storage solutions and ensure smooth operation of cloud infrastructure.
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure that all IT systems comply with relevant data protection regulations.
- IT Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to identify future IT needs and make recommendations for upgrades and new tools to enhance efficiency and security.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT support or network administration, preferably within a financial or tax-related industry.
- Proficiency in managing Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Experience with cybersecurity protocols and data protection regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software a plus.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
- Experience working with cloud-based solutions (e.g., OneDrive, Microsoft 365).
- Familiarity with domain security.
- Familiarity with Google Tag Manager and/or other Digital Marketing analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with IT needs specific to the accounting and tax industry.
