What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Clinician- Alturas position at Modoc County Office of Education?
Duties and Responsibilities
? Assessment and Evaluation:
? Provide direct mental health services that include assessment, consultation, evaluation,
treatment plan development, treatment coordination, individual, group, and case
management.
? Conduct assessments and screeners to identify mental health issues and behavioral
challenges among students.
? Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other professionals to gather comprehensive
information.
? Counseling Services:
? Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional and behavioral
concerns.
? Develop personalized treatment plans to support students in overcoming challenges.
? Implement strategies to promote a culture of caring, respect, and safety.
? Provide anti-bullying, anti-violence, and positive social-emotional skills building.
? Crisis Intervention:
? Respond to and manage crises or emergencies affecting students' mental health.
? Collaborate with school administrators and County Behavioral Health to implement
effective crisis intervention strategies.
? Collaboration with the School Community:
? Attend and/or conduct program-related meetings, training, and workshops, and
participate in inter/intra agency planning and staff meetings as appropriate.
? Work closely with teachers, school counselors, and administrators to create a supportive
and inclusive school environment.
? Offer consultation to educators on managing classroom behavior and addressing
students' mental health needs.
? Parental and Caregiver Involvement:
? Acts as a liaison/consultant between clients, families, school personnel, and community
agencies.
? Plans and conducts in-service training for parents, students, district personnel, and
others.
? Engage with parents and caregivers to provide information, support, and resources.
? Collaborate with families to develop strategies for addressing mental health concerns
outside of school.
? Prevention and Education:
? Implement mental healt Must possess and maintain current license with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), or
California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) in one of the following programs: License
as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a marriage, Family Therapist (MFT), Pupil Personnel Services
Credential (PPS) Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Educational
Psychologist (LEP).
? Experience working in children’s mental health and or early intervention.
? Demonstrate competence in communicating effectively with children and parents, staff
members, and representatives of other agencies.
? Familiarity with student services/support programs for underserved students and
families, or priority populations.
? Hold a valid California driver’s license
Salary : $74,900 - $109,140
