Financial Operations Specialist - Fixed Assets

Key Responsibilities:
Fixed Asset Accounting & Compliance
- Maintain and record all asset transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and transfers across diverse locations.
- Ensure all fixed assets are properly classified and capitalized in compliance with GAAP standards and internal policies.
- Manage monthly depreciation schedules and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
Reporting & Reconciliation
- Prepare key reports: roll-forward schedules, depreciation summaries, and fixed asset reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including asset-related journal entries and adjustments.
- Serve as a key resource during audits, providing documentation and explanations for fixed asset records.
Asset Tracking & Inventory Oversight
- Conduct regular physical inventories and asset audits across multiple campuses and facilities.
- Partner with operations and facilities teams to validate the existence, condition, and location of assets.
- Manage and maintain asset tagging and tracking processes to improve data accuracy and visibility.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2 years of experience in accounting, 1 year in fixed assets general accounting.
- Experience in governmental, community, or non-profit accounting highly preferred.
- Proficiency in NetSuite OR SAP, OR Oracle or similar ERP systems is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills.
