The Beverage Development Intern works very closely with the R&D Innovation Development Team in identifying optimal citrus flavors for use in NPD applications. He/She would contribute to the development team with learning about current citrus flavors used and potential optimization in stability, usage, carrier, and cost. A majority of the individual’s time will be spent working with current/new recipes and flavor house suppliers.
Work Schedule
Standard working day (i.e. 8am to 5pm) from Monday to Friday; however, will accommodate schedule to coincide with classes.
Responsibilities

- Support the Development Team in potential renovation and NPD requiring citrus flavor(s)
- Establish requirements: stability, usage, carrier, and cost
- Investigating, validating & summarizing citrus flavors in use with associated specifications and applications for North America
- Work with pilot team to understand process on both systems and share detail out with development team

- Engage with identified flavor houses to gain insight into citrus flavor capabilities and associated quality parameters.

- Including process benchmarking & reapplication across processes, potential review/document flavor storage/usage of citrus flavors in North America
Qualifications / Skills:
Candidates must be U.S. citizens or have U.S. permanent work authorization; must be 21 years of age or older. Majors Considered: Food Science, Flavor Chemist, Fermentation Scientist, Sensory Scientist. 3.0 GPA or above is required. This internship experience will be located in Milwaukee, WI.
