This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a research initiative aimed at improving responses to family and domestic violence (FDV) within military and veteran families in Australia. Central to a collaborative project commissioned by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and Australia’s National Research Organisation on Women’s Safety, the role is based within the Monash School of Psychological Sciences. The project leverages interdisciplinary partnerships, drawing on expertise from the Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre, fostering a dynamic environment for impactful and meaningful research.
The Research Fellow will be instrumental in advancing the project's objectives through project coordination, data mapping and analysis and knowledge mobilization. This role will support the development and use of diverse data formats related to family and domestic violence (FDV), contributing to impactful translational research. By engaging with stakeholders across military and veteran services and the family violence sector, the Research Fellow will help shape research that informs policy and practice, with opportunities to participate in qualitative research further enriching the project’s depth.
We seek candidates with a relevant degree or equivalent experience, combined with strong expertise in quantitative data analysis, research coordination and organisation and stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in software such as SPSS or Stata is highly desirable, as is an interest in trauma, mental health, or family and domestic violence (FDV).
