In addition, this position will be responsible for Payroll Accounting including monthly journal vouchers and account reconciliations.
This is a full-time position being offered in our Kirkland, WA office.

Job Summary:
The Payroll Accountant is a key member of the MPS Finance and Accounting Team and is responsible for general payroll support and processing for both US and Canada employees. In addition, this position will be responsible for Payroll Accounting including monthly journal vouchers and account reconciliations.
This is a full-time position being offered in our Kirkland, WA office.
Essential Functions
- Manage the day-to-day payroll operations including bi-weekly payroll submission for the US and Canada
- Ensure accurate tracking of employee hours and PTO
- Ensure the timely funding of payroll, payroll taxes and other employee withholdings
- Address employee inquires and investigate and correct payroll discrepancies promptly while maintaining the confidentiality of employee data
- Partner with HR and Stock Administration on payroll related matters including new hires, terminations, commissions, benefits, etc.
- Prepare all journal entries relating to payroll including expenses, liabilities and other payroll–related transactions while maintaining compliance with SOX, GAAP and other relevant regulations
- Reconcile payroll accounts ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and align the company policies and compliance standards between payroll system (ADP/Workday) and financial systems
- Support both internal and external audits related to payroll and associated accounts
- Collaborate with the Stock Admin to ensure accurate processing of vested stocks transactions for payroll
- Supports accounts payable with invoice processing, payments, account coding, accruals, research, and analysis
- Provide Ad hoc project support to the finance team as needed
- BS/BA degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll accounting, preferably within a public company setting
- US GAAP accounting knowledge with 5 years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s)
- Must be able to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
