Position Overview:
As a Seasonal Payroll Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to review and process requests for final payment to employees upon separation of employment. This critical role involves validating timekeeping system records against the payroll system to guarantee precise and punctual payments. You will also need to consider the company's pay policies and, in some cases, state laws while processing these requests. Additionally, when time allows, you will be responsible for processing requests for wage adjustments for both active and separated employees. Please note that the volume for both types of payments is quite high during the seasonal period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and Process Final Payment Requests:
- Review employee separation records and documentation.
- Validate timekeeping system records against the payroll system to ensure accuracy.
- Process final payments promptly and accurately in accordance with company policies and state laws.
- Compliance with Pay Policies and State Laws:
- Stay updated on pay policies and any relevant state laws.
- Ensure that all final payment requests comply with these policies and laws.
- Wage Adjustment Requests:
- Process wage adjustment requests for active and separated employees as needed.
- Maintain accuracy and compliance with company policies during wage adjustment processing.
Qualifications:
- 6 months to 1 yr Previous experience in payroll processing or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and timekeeping software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Costco's pay policies and state employment laws is a plus.
- Ability to handle high volumes of payment requests efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
