Job Function:
The Office Clerk II reports directly to the Specialist/Financial Grants. This senior level clerical position involves responsibility for independent performance of difficult and complex account keeping and clerical tasks requiring a thorough knowledge of department procedures. Must be proficient in the use of the College's automated account keeping system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain financial records, files and accounts.
- Performs independently the more complex and difficult tasks of the clerical unit.
- Create grants within the accounting system including set up of budgets.
- Write and input journal entries.
- Review and prepare grant budget transfers.
- Compiles fiscal data and assists in preparing reports for grant directors and external funders.
- File and copy documentation.
- Prepare required vouchers for billing of funders.
- Review and approve travel requests for grant personnel.
- Maintains logs for grant journal entries, requisitions approved and assigned grant numbers.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new or modified computer programs and systems related to account and financial records and reports.
- Revises, develops, and implements improved work procedures, forms and methods.
- Operates office equipment such as desktop computer, adding machine, fax, scanner, and phone system.
- Confers with grant personnel regarding budget discrepancies, appropriations, amendments and justifications.

Must currently hold the title of Office Clerk II, OR meet the following minimum qualifications for a provisional appointment;
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
- (A) Graduation with an Associate's degree or successful completion of at least sixty (60) credit hours from a college or university; OR,
- (B) Two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience*; OR,
- (C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
- Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Sales Clerk will not be considered appropriate experience for the purposes of these minimum qualifications.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have the ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from faculty, staff, students and the general public.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Salary: $39,797.72 - $50,895.13
Pay Transparency Disclaimer: The posted salary range represents the full salary scale for this position, which includes all pay steps within the range. The starting salary for all new hires is typically at the entry-level figure, as determined by the step placement of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Progression through the range occurs over time based on established criteria such as length of service and performance. This range is provided to give applicants an understanding of the potential earnings over the course of a career in this role.
