About the Role
Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Business Banking Analyst to join the team in our Business Banking department. As a Business Banking Analyst, you will deliver a World Class Experience by supporting the Relationship and Portfolio Managers’ in managing the day-to-day credit processes on accounts including credit write ups, criticized and classified loan reports, customer inquiries, and deal closings. The Business Banking Analyst is responsible for gathering financial information, and preparation of financial spreadsheets and models for both client and prospects. Assists the loan review process, manages several aspects of the underwriting function and has a key role in monitoring credit performance and documentation. As a member of the Business Banking, the Business Banking Analyst supports the team in achieving its goals, including the growth of a portfolio, ensuring compliance with risk management. You will be located in Goleta, CA with a fully on-site work schedule.
What We’re Looking For
- A four-year college or university degree in Business and Economics preferred or related subject required; or any combination of equivalent education, training and work experience; one to two years of accounting courses required
- Minimum of three to five years of financial statement analysis experience and banking experience required
- Experience in ITI, Viewpoint, Tableau, or other data mining and report-writing programs desirable
- Knowledge of credit/financial analysis, loan structuring, cash flow analysis, accounting, and documentation skills
Your Responsibilities
The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Underwrites credit requests for new and existing loans through the analysis of financial statement projections, cash flow, and industry and trend data with the Bank’s credit policies
- Under limited supervision, writes clear, concise credit write-ups for lending relationships that highlight key information and areas of risk in the credit
- Prepares a variety of forms, reports, financial spreadsheets, written analysis, proposals, and other documentation pertaining to credit and customer correspondence
- Analyzes business and personal tax returns, financial statements, and supporting schedules
- Compares client and prospect spreads and financial parameters to industry and competition and industry standards and perform ratio analysis
- Conducts research of CRE market, maintaining continuing knowledge/monitoring process for trends of real estate and business markets, as applicable
