Estimating & Preconstruction Internship

You will assist in preparing project cost estimates, analyzing construction plans, and learning the fundamentals of project bidding and management through a rotationship internship across our Estimating and Preconstruction teams.

You will participate in the 2025 summer internship program initiatives that will provide a realistic view of what it is like to work on a commercial construction project at Monteith Construction.

What You'll Do At Monteith

Spend your 2025 summer with us at Monteith Construction in Wilmington! Some of the things you will be involved with, but not limited to, are:

• Gain a general overview of our Scheduling, VDC, Accounting, Marketing, Business Development, Preconstruction, and Estimating processes.
• Assist in preparing bid proposals and assembling required documentation.
• Learn and utilize estimating and precon software and tools under supervision.
• Maintain organized records of project files and communications.
• Support the team in soliciting and reviewing Trade Partner and supplier quotes.
• Research market costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Assist the Preconstruction Team with project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and design documents to prepare initial scopes of work.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to identify project requirements and constraints.
  
  

Experience You Should Have

• Must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and seeking a degree in a related field/construction management program
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing

The Pay Range For This Role Is

17.50 - 17.50 USD per hour(Monteith Wilmington)
