The Line Manager position is focused on managing the day-to-day project and staffing needs of the EHS-Auditing and Management Program Service Line within the Advisory-Risk Management Solutions Division. This role is primarily focused on people and project delivery. It is the responsibility of the Line Manager to ensure quality deliverables and work products by following applicable internal and industry standards. This role ensures that quality work is consistently produced by each team member in a safe, organized cost-effective manner.
The Line Manager role includes responsibility for a range of activities such as:
- Model MES Core Behaviors
- Support and advocate all corporate policies, procedures, and goals.
- Participate in MES leadership, talent development and operational special project initiatives as requested by the Advisory Leadership Team.
- Maintain an individual TRG and sales goal.
- Lead a team of salaried employees.
- Support Service Line strategy by holding the team accountable for utilization, sales, and talent acquisition and development goals.
- Attend Service Line and Division meetings as applicable and be prepared to present YTD progress toward employee and project performance goals.
- Develop, manage, and track the targets/objectives to ensure they are in line with the strategic growth plan.
- Partner with other Line Managers to balance staffing, workload, and utilize backlog to meet TRG goals.
- Actively look for cross selling and expanded scope opportunities especially for other Advisory services.
- Conduct annual and mid-year performance reviews.
- Schedule routine operations planning meetings with staff.
- Engage with HR business partner with respect to talent acquisition, onboarding and mentoring.
- Collaborate with marketing team in the development of content creation and support ongoing marketing campaigns.
- Exercise safe work practices by following all safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
- Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUISITE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline from an accredited university or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5-10 years of project-related or consulting experience with a preference that at least half of those years were in a people or project manager position.
- Experience/exposure to working within a professional consulting, team-oriented environment and experience performing client management, project management, and staff management. Additional preference for working in environmental consulting.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Abide by quality control policy and procedures to maintain standards, and attention to detail.
Competitive compensation package: annual salary ranging from $110,000 to $180,000, commensurate with accomplishments, experience, performance, credentials, and geography.
