Our Wine store offers hundreds of wines from all over the world. In this role, you’ll serve as the product knowledge expert for wine, building relationships and customer loyalty by proactively providing personalized solutions and pairing suggestions that create interest and enthusiasm for our products and deliver incredible, knowledge based service.
What will I do?
- Lead with our values, always help others and ensure the Company remains a great place to work for all
- Educate and develop employees, engage in meaningful conversations, build trusted relationships and provide the resources, feedback, and development opportunities they need to be successful
- Develop a wine culture throughout the store; educating others on wine industry, production, regions, varietals, and tasting methods; coordinate team member and customer education on wines
- Coordinate events and featured product displays around current Merchandising priorities
- Set and achieve sales goals for targeted products; execute priorities; monitor and influence positive results in wine sales, contribution and customer engagement
- Execute Merchandising priorities, while also being empowered to make decisions that delight the customer and build sales and loyalty
- Partner with the Manager and Company Consultants in response to Top Customer requests to source rare wine selections and to oversee the fine wine room; highlight wine in well-merchandised collections to peak customer’s interests and grow sales
- Stay up-to-date on wine industry, regions, varietals and taste profiles; continuously learn about new products and services and share that knowledge with others
- Ensure products are available for customers by ordering and replenishing product; continuously look for and share ways to improve operations
- Perform other tasks essential to the proper functioning of the operation as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Customer service experience in restaurant, grocery or liquor retail setting
- Advanced knowledge of Wine industry, regions, production and tasting methods; including French, Italian, California, Sparkling and other fine wines
- Able to communicate complex information in simple terms
- Experience with merchandising, meal pairing, event planning or customer relations
- Passion for people and enthusiasm and knowledge of relevant products and services
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: International Sommelier Guild, Wine & Spirits Education Trust, or Society of Wine Educators
