Summer Program: ESY Special Education - Moody
Dates/Hours (2 Programs):
6 Weeks; 4 days a week Program
June 30th - August 7th - 11 Postions
Monday - Thursday
8:00 am - 12:00 pm (4 Hours)
Subject to change based on student enrollment; start and stop times
4 Weeks; 3 days a week Program
July 8th - July 31st - 3 Positions
Tuesday - Thursday
8:00 am - 12:00 pm (4 Hours)
Subject to change based on student enrollment; start and stop times
Salary:
$40.00/hr - DESE Licensed
$30.00/hr - Non-Licensed
Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Summer ESY Coordinator and/or the Executive Director of Student Support Services and/or his/her designee
Statement of Duties:
- Work with children with Multiple, moderate disabilities
- Participate as a member of the Evaluation Team when appropriate.
- Evaluate children who have been referred, developing appropriate reports and documents as required.
- Train classroom instructional Educational Support Personnel to work with identified students.
- Provide, as appropriate, materials for assigned students
- Work cooperatively with the building Principal, other personnel, and with parents.
- Coordinate and arrange TEAM meeting process if requested.
- Within and beyond the classroom, consistently reinforce school wide behavior and learning expectations for all students, and contributes to their learning by sharing responsibility for meeting their needs.
- Responsible for instruction and general duties as indicated by the building Principal, Director of Special Education, directives of the Superintendent of Schools his/her designees, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities – Pk-8 or 5-12– Preferred, SEI Endorsement preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree - Required.
- Proficiency as evidenced through transcripts of undergraduate and/or graduate work in the fields in which candidates apply. Preference will be given to candidates who furnish evidence of academic accomplishment and strength in the content areas.
- Previous teaching and/or successful experience working with Children with Severe Special Needs preferred.
- Bilingual Preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
