Farm Operator

Moore Seed Farm has been a grower of quality seeds since 1937. A family-owned business, we are searching for a skilled farm operator who is looking for a new challenge and ready to join our team!

The Farm Operator position will be primarily responsible for shop maintenance and operation of equipment. In the field, an operator will be expected to perform field work including but not limited to disking, planting, spraying, detasseling seed corn, combining, driving truck, etc. Moore Seed Farm is a specialty farm, so experience with custom equipment and modern farming technology is preferred.

A successful candidate should have crop farm experience, entry/mid-level mechanical skills, has (or can obtain) a CDL or Farm Endorsement on their driver’s license , and strong work ethic. Bonus if a candidate has an interest or understanding of the seed industry.

In addition to farming responsibilities, the candidate would also be responsible for other shop duties, which may include, but not be limited to:

· Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic operations and repairs.

· Fabricate/repair parts by utilizing shop tools, grinders, welding equipment, etc.

· Ability to maintain a clean & orderly working environment, track inventories of hydraulic supplies, anticipated parts needed, and other shop supplies.

· Tasks that require a general understanding of carpentry or building practices.

· Ability to work efficiently and independently

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Secondary education or trade school/vocational training in a related field such as agriculture or diesel mechanics. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Must be physically able to lift up to 60 lbs. consistently, scale heights, withstand high heat, dust, and other natural and industrial elements.

A valid driver’s license and Class A CDL preferred. Drivers with Farm Endorsements will be considered.
