The Position:
The primary focus of the Safety Risk Manager is to guarantee the well-being of our team members, ensuring they return home safely to their families each day. This entails fostering a robust culture of safety throughout the organization and at our clients' sites, with a key emphasis on accident and injury prevention. Leading Safety Committee initiatives, the role involves driving organizational alignment and fostering innovation in safety practices.
The Duties:

Review injury analyses and discuss with branch staff, working to identify internal and external modifications necessary to prevent future incidents.

Work with Sales and Operations team early in the sales process for higher risk or higher potential prospective clients to assist in identifying safety hazards, additional training needs, orientation/screening development, and client onboarding.

Develop and maintain relationships with risk management, safety, and/or training personnel within key Morales Group customer accounts.

Make risk mitigation recommendations as needed for clients, operations team members, sales team, leadership, etc. For example, evaluating and developing PPE requirements.

Develop goals and actions to correct negative trends and maintain positive trends.

Review, monitor and report trends in individual branch offices, clients, and industries regarding frequency and severity of injuries and accidents.

Act as a technical resource for safety-related questions and concerns for all Morales Group teammates.

Provide ongoing coaching and guidance for Morales Group internal teammates on workplace safety-related functions such as proper job hazard analysis, injury investigations, job description, and other Morales Group safety program requirements.

Identify high frequency/high risk Morales Group client locations and develop client-specific risk management programs based upon findings.

Conduct site evaluations (minimum 1/month or as needed).

Including a minimum of Accion Performance site evaluation once a month.

Manage “Safety Ambassadors Program” initiatives in efforts to keep safety top-of-mind every day.

Create content and lead monthly Safety Collaboration.

Evaluate and assist in the development of training and orientation materials for all teammates including new hire orientation.

Responsible for on-going education to obtain information for use in training programs, or to inform management of training program status as well as staying up to date on any laws.

Respond to and manage all OSHA and other regulatory inquiries into safety issues at Morales Group branch offices and customer locations (focus on year-end reporting).

Supporting Compliance Specialist with worker's comp case management.

Attend bi-annual risk assessment workshops.
The Qualities:

Experience: 2-3 years with knowledge of workers' comp practices and OSHA standards and basic principles of safety/risk management.

Attention to Detail: They must be meticulous in identifying potential hazards and risks within the workplace or operational processes.

Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze data and assess risks is essential for developing effective safety strategies and mitigation plans.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Safety and risk managers should be adept at identifying problems and developing innovative solutions to address them.

Training and Education: The ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs to employees is important for fostering a culture of safety.

Adaptability: Safety and risk managers should be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances or emerging risks.
