Position Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for overall development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Essential Functions Of The Job

• Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal and regulatory/legal requirements.
• Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, quality systems and quality improvement initiatives.
• Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.
• Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products.
• Lead a team of Quality engineers, inspectors, auditors, analysts, and technicians.
• Report to Management on the performance of QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
• Conduct periodic management review meetings.
• Oversee product recalls.
• Provide Quality related training to drive cultural change.
• Work with Engineering to create and process engineering changes
• Liaison with other departments to address warranty related quality issues and process RMA’s.
• Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
• Maintain current awareness of applicable standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.
  
  
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA’s)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
• Understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 140001 etc. implementation.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required preferably in engineering or science field.
• Previous management experience in manufacturing and quality assurance.
• Five years’ experience working in a manufacturing facility.
