The Lead Crisis Residential Specialist is responsible for providing leadership and direct support in a crisis residential facility for individuals experiencing acute behavioral health challenges. This role ensures a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting staff, and ensuring quality care for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide guidance to Crisis Residential Specialists, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Assist in managing daily operations, including staff scheduling, crisis intervention, and resident care coordination.
- Provide direct support and intervention to residents experiencing emotional or psychiatric crises.
- Conduct intake assessments and collaborate with clinical staff to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations regarding residential services.
- Facilitate team meetings, training sessions, and debriefings to support staff development and performance.
- Document resident progress, interventions, and incidents in accordance with agency protocols.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for crisis situations and escalate as necessary.
- Foster a trauma-informed and recovery-oriented environment for residents.
- Assist with conflict resolution among residents and provide behavioral support strategies.
- Participate in case management meetings and coordinate care with external providers and community resources.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field (Master’s preferred) OR equivalent work experience in behavioral health.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a crisis residential or behavioral health setting.
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in crisis situations.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and person-centered approaches.
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Background check and drug screening required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Knowledge of community resources and support services for individuals in crisis.
