What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transactional Legal Counsel / Attorney position at MORONGO BAND OF MISSION INDIANS?
Under the direction of In-House Counsel, the Transactional Counsel will be responsible for handling a wide variety of commercial agreements, construction and real estate agreements and related documents, IT agreements, professional services agreements, master service agreements, engagement letters, and all other contracts and associated matters as assigned.
- Provides and renders legal advice to the In-House Counsel, department heads, and Tribal Council, as applicable, regarding contracts and agreements.
- Drafts, reviews, and negotiates a wide variety of agreements ranging from routine to complex (as assigned based on proficiency) in a timely manner.
- Researches legal issues and reviews agreements, guidance, opinions, ordinances, resolutions, regulations, historic contracts, leases, deeds, ballot measures, motions and other legal documents to provide advice and guidance on contract issues and legal questions in transactions.
- May attend meetings of the Tribal Council or committees for specific matters or projects as determined by the In-House Counsel.
- Assists other attorneys in the Legal Department as well as outside counsel on complex legal matters as assigned.
- Law degree from accredited law school
- Current California state bar admission
- 5 years experience in transactional/commercial/corporate matters
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and business needs
- Comfort with a dynamic, often-changing environment
- Detail-oriented, flexible, and collaborative team player
- A high degree of multi-tasking capability
