Job Summary:

Morton Salt's Silver Springs, NY location has an opening for a Co-op in the Engineering department starting in June. The right individual will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including working with the Engineering team on various projects throughout the plant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations as they pertain to plant operation and maintenance.
• Ability to understand the systems and equipment used at the facility.
• Ability to perform and analyze various system checks.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Will at all times be alert to safety conditions and will strictly adhere to all safety requirements, quality control guidelines, environmental policies/procedures and other plant policies.
• Be familiar with Food & Safety and Quality programs within the plant.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Currently attending college in the engineering field.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Office work and project-based work on the production floor.
• Frequent high acuity hearing and depth perception.
• Constant noise 80dB and over.
• Frequent vibration, dryness, dust, and mechanical hazards. 
• Varied temperature due to weather conditions.
• Eye protection, hearing protection, head covering, and foot protection required.

Starting rate of $27.87.
