Purchasing Manager Job Description
COMPENSATION:

Moscow, Idaho
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
You’ll be the first point of contact for homeowners and general contractors at our Moscow office. During a typical day, you’ll talk with clients to learn about their plans, write up material orders for their projects, and call suppliers to place material orders. You’ll also be responsible for purchasing, receiving and checking in materials when they arrive, preparing invoices for clients, and accepting payments by phone or in person.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years as a purchasing manager or similar role (buyer, planner, manager, etc.), preferably in the construction industry.
- General computer skills, with the ability to enter client information into an online CRM, put together accurate material orders, and send invoices at the end of a project.
- Friendly, and enjoy helping people. Sometimes our clients don’t know what they need or what questions to ask, and it’s our job to patiently guide them to a solution.
- Have the ability to problem solve, and translate customer needs into material orders and bids.
- Humble, Hungry, Personable. Self-motivated. Self-managing.
- Experience in the glass industry is a plus.

Specific Duties:
- Answering calls and emails from residential and commercial clients looking for glass and window supplies and installation.
- Listen to their needs to gain an understanding of who they are and what they need, and help translate those needs into material orders and estimate drafts.
- Maintain relationships with our suppliers, working with them to learn about their offerings. Search for competitive pricing between suppliers and keep our pricing sheets updated.
- Keep a friendly and patient demeanor with clients. We’re here to help them and guide them through the door and window installation process.
- Accept delivery of materials, and check them into our system as they’re unloaded.
- Control inventory levels of common materials.
- Follow up with clients to confirm project schedule and give updates on material delivery schedules as needed.
- Receive quotes from suppliers and convert them into invoices for our clients. We value attention to detail and care for what you do.
- Accept payment from clients, either in person or over the phone.
