Annual Salary: $55,000-58,000, commensurate with education and experience.

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) is a vital community resource that changes the course of lives of Bronx and Manhattan residents to a degree not otherwise possible. Each year, we serve more than 35,000 preschoolers, school age children, teens, adults and senior citizens through our support, enrichment, education, and recreation programs, expanding their opportunities to live full, productive lives.

Major Responsibilities:
- Provide career and educational assessment and employment development services to young adult participants who are between the ages of 18 and 24 years of age. Assist with participant screening, individual career planning and employment retention services.
- Expand internship and employment opportunities for participants by developing relationships with local businesses and hiring agencies using recent labor market information.
- Place participants in appropriate internship and employment opportunities based upon the individual’s career goals, skills and interests. Maintain communication with students regarding applications, interviews, hiring process and documentation.
- Facilitate curriculum-based work readiness training that will address potential barriers to continuous employment.
- Ensure all participants have a complete employment portfolio, including resumes, cover letters, references and LinkedIn accounts and provide job coaching as appropriate.
- Ensure participants are equipped for self-directed job searches.
- Refer students as appropriate to the College Bound program for college prep services.
- Monitor, track and report on participants’ internship, job placement or post-secondary and/or training progress for the purposes of program and contract reporting of outcomes.
- Advocate for reasonable accommodations at workplaces to ensure participants can perform their job duties effectively.
- Work closely with employers to promote an inclusive and supportive work environment.
- Foster self-confidence and self-advocacy to enhance participants' ability to navigate workplace dynamic.
- Worksite assessment and monitoring including regular visits to observe participants on the job.
- Refer students as appropriate to Social Worker for crisis intervention services and for the purposes of removing barriers to employment.
- Represents the program at job fairs, community meetings and training for the purposes of internship and job development and recruitment of participants.
- All other job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field.
- Experience and cultural competency in working with underserved at risk youth populations, including students with IEPs and other mental health barriers such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc.
- Ability to make sound decisions to secure the safety and well-being of all program participants.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and written skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- Knowledge of standard teaching methods to young adults including job readiness practices, methods, and techniques
- Ability to maintain accurate data, reports, attendance, and other records.
- Knowledge of community resources
- Ability to multi-task, be self-sufficient and take initiative.
- Work as part of a team to support the fulfillment of the organizational mission as well as the achievement of departmental and contractual outcomes.
- Follow all agency and program policies and procedures and high demonstration of integrity.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google, and other basic computer functions.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm and weekends as needed
