Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and manage a team of landscape professionals to execute projects efficiently.
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members to ensure quality workmanship.
- Foster a positive, motivated, and team-oriented work environment.
- Project Execution & Management:
- Oversee landscape construction projects, including hardscaping, plantings, grading, irrigation systems, and drainage solutions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, design plans, and technical drawings to execute project tasks.
- Maintain productivity, track project progress, and report updates to management.
- Equipment & Material Handling:
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are available and in proper working condition.
- Operate heavy machinery such as skid steers, backhoes, and loaders when necessary.
- Manage material orders and deliveries to ensure project timelines stay on track.
- Safety & Quality Control:
- Enforce and maintain safety protocols and industry standards on job sites.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Accurately log work progress, time sheets, and material usage.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding project challenges, timelines, and crew performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience & Skills:
- Three to five years of experience in landscape construction, hardscaping, or site work.
- Proven experience in a crew leader or foreman role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and technical drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Certifications & Licensing:
- Valid driver's license required (Chauffeur's or CDL a plus).
- Certifications in landscape construction, irrigation, safety training (OSHA), or fall protection are a plus.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs) and work in various outdoor conditions.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods.
