Mount Marty is pleased to accept applications for passionate and faith-filled female missionary to join our Campus Ministry team. The missionary will play a vital role in nurturing the Catholic identity of the university through outreach and faith formation efforts. This position involves leading retreats at area high schools and parishes, organizing student faith events on campus, and supporting recruitment initiatives for Mission Scholars. The ideal candidate will have a passion for evangelization, leadership development, and assisting young people grow in their faith.
Key Responsibilities:
- High School and Parish Retreats
- Organize and lead Benedictine-inspired retreats for high school students at Catholic schools and parish youth groups
- Build relationships with Catholic school administrators, pastors, and youth ministry leaders to promote retreat opportunities.
- Serve as a faith witness and mentor for high school students, encouraging them to consider Mount Marty University for their college education.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to integrate retreats into recruitment efforts.
- Campus Ministry and Student Engagement
- Host and facilitate on-campus faith events, including prayer services, Bible studies, and community-building activities.
- Provide spiritual mentoring and guidance to students, particularly young women, helping them grow in their Catholic faith.
- Work closely with the Campus Ministry team to plan and execute campus-wide liturgical celebrations, retreats, and service projects.
- Create welcoming environments where students of all faith backgrounds feel encouraged to explore their spirituality.
- Recruitment and Support of Mission Scholars
- Assist the admissions office in identifying and recruiting high school students eligible for the Catholic Mission Scholars program.
- Serve as a point of contact for prospective Catholic students, particularly those from retreat or parish outreach efforts.
- Plan and lead special events for Mission Scholars, including leadership retreats, service projects, and mentorship programs.
- Outreach and Evangelization
- Promote the university’s Catholic and Benedictine values through engaging online and in-person presentations, social media, and one-on-one outreach.
- Foster relationships with Catholic high schools, youth groups, and diocesan leaders to build a robust network of support for student recruitment.
- Act as an ambassador for Mount Marty University at diocesan and Catholic events, such as youth rallies and conferences.
- Program Development and Administration
- Develop creative, mission-driven retreat content that reflects the Benedictine values of the university.
- Manage the logistics of retreats, including scheduling, promotion, transportation, and materials.
- Track and report on the outcomes of retreats and outreach efforts, providing feedback to improve future programming.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field.
- A practicing Catholic with a deep understanding of and commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and Benedictine spirituality.
- Previous experience in campus ministry, youth ministry, or retreat leadership preferred.
- Strong organizational and event planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with high school students, university students, and parish leaders.
- Passion for evangelization and forming young people in the Catholic faith.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a ministry and admissions team.
- Flexibility to travel to area high schools and parishes as needed.
- A heart for mission work and a desire to serve in a faith-filled environment.
