Position Summary:
The Coordinator of Student Engagement provides direction and implementation for programs and initiatives that lead the university's efforts to increase student engagement and involvement, ultimately increasing student success. This professional will have a unique opportunity to lead in the delivery of highly effective student engagement programs and services that promote inclusion, sense of belonging, and social justice, to an increasingly diverse student population. The coordinator will also collaborate with professionals across the university to promote holistic student development. Mount Mary University serves an undergraduate population with over 60% of students identifying from historically marginalized backgrounds.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement co-curricular campus programs that promote the holistic development of students, build community, increase a sense of belonging, meet the needs of our diverse student population, and support the University's mission.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to develop robust student development programs that positively impact persistence and retention such as the Mount Mary Moments series.
- Develop and implement signature events/tradition programming including welcome programming and countdown to commencement/graduation programming.
- Assist with the execution of new student programs as agreed upon with the Director of New Student and Transition Programs.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff (Graduate Assistants, and Program Assistants).
- Develop and facilitate a comprehensive leadership development training for students
- Facilitate student focused civic engagement priorities on campus.
- Manage Student Engagement social media connections with students, including Facebook and Instagram.
- Advise the Student Government Association
- Foster the development of new clubs and organizations and provide training and enrichment for student leaders and their organizations' advisors.
- Oversee development, monitoring, and revision policies and operation of student clubs and organizations.
- Oversee the management of programs for general student support such as the Food & Hygiene Resource Center and hygiene product distribution.
- Communicate with vendors and others on campus.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor and agreed upon.
Other Administrative Responsibilities:
- Provide reports to the senior leadership of Student Affairs as required.
- Manage budgets assigned to the Student Engagement department.
- Collaborate on the development of university-wide policies that affect students.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as agreed upon
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree required, master's degree preferred, preferably in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or College Student Personnel Administration
- Experience developing and implementing a wide range of successful programs at the college level
- Experience advising student clubs and organizations or advising students in a similar setting
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity and inclusion; experience working with underrepresented students
- Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize projects
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups, facilitate group process and foster collaborative decision making
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to maneuver in ways that support successful event management and completion of job responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
Working Conditions:
- Can regularly be scheduled for 40 hours a week
- Varying workflow, sometimes demanding high workload times of the year
- Complete work required within a limited space & time
